Jamila Sulayman, LICSW
I was born and raised in Seattle, WA to parents, who are refugees of the Vietnam War. Growing up in South Seattle has informed a lot of my roles as a counselor, daughter, sister, friend, cousin, mental health therapist, activist, and a Cham and Vietnamese American. During my free time I spend time traveling, exploring new dishes, working on DIY projects, spending time with family, and taking care of my plant babies. (:

Background and Education.
I am a first generation college student who quickly had to learn to navigate through multiple systems on my own. I graduated with my Master’s in Social Work from University of Washington in 2016. Since then, I have worked with teens in school based counseling and community mental health settings. I have 5 years of experience treating depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use, issues with self- esteem, body image, and the inner child. I have provided treatment for children, adolescents, adults, and families from diverse cultures and varying socioeconomic backgrounds.
